WebEDrums

Plug in your e-drum kit. Play your songs. No install.

WebEDrums is a drum highway that runs in Chrome and Edge. Point it at a folder of Clone Hero, YARG or Rock Band charts and play them on any USB MIDI drum kit.

No account needed. Nothing is uploaded.

A drum highway with notes falling towards the hit line, as shown in WebEDrums.

How it works

  1. Plug in the kit

Connect your e-drum module over USB. The browser asks once for MIDI access and the pads are mapped automatically; adjust anything that is off.

  2. Pick your songs folder

Choose the folder where you keep your Clone Hero, YARG or Rock Band songs. It stays on your disk; the browser only reads it.

  3. Play

Choose a song and a difficulty, then hit the notes as they reach the line. Scores and hit stats are saved in your browser.

What you get

Compatibility

Browsers

Chrome and Edge are fully supported. Firefox 108 and newer works after a one-time site-permission prompt, but cannot remember the songs folder between visits. Safari has no Web MIDI, so it cannot talk to a kit.

Kits

Any e-drum module with USB MIDI. Tested on the Roland TD-02KV; other modules use the same General MIDI drum notes, and you can remap pads in Settings.

Operating systems

Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS, as long as you use Chrome or Edge. No drivers to install.

How it compares

Clone Hero and YARG are great desktop games. Rock Band 4 is a console game. Melodics is a lesson app. WebEDrums is the one that runs in a browser tab with your own charts, so there is nothing to install on a new machine.

Common questions

Which e-drum kits work?

Any kit whose module connects over USB as a MIDI device: that covers nearly every electronic kit sold in the last fifteen years, including Roland, Alesis, Yamaha and Millenium modules. The Roland TD-02KV is the kit we test on. Pads are detected from the standard General MIDI drum notes and you can remap any pad in Settings.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome and Edge fully. Firefox 108 and newer works too, with two differences: it asks you to install a small site-permission add-on the first time you connect a kit, and it cannot remember the songs folder, so you pick or drop it again on each visit. Safari has no Web MIDI, so it cannot talk to a kit at all.

Is it free?

Yes. Every day you get three full plays plus unlimited 60-second previews of any song, with no account. Pro removes the daily cap.
